A peer is a person who has experienced addiction or mental health issues. A peer is a person who knows how something about what you have been through in your struggles. Peer services are services delivered to you by a peer. These services may include listening, support, chairing meetings, finding additional services for you or suggesting various pathways of recovery.
The peers at Bethesda Recovery have lived experience and are trained by Georgia Council on Substance Abuse or Bethesda Coaches Association. They receive ongoing training through classes and virtual meetings.
Peer services do cost. Some of the services are free. Drop-in services, resource information, some transportation are free to most. Call for details. 912-283-8580
Many of our peers have gone through the residential program at Bethesda Recovery. The need for help is great in the field of recovery. You could be the next peer coach.
